Classification for the thalamic hemorrhage (Beatty/Zervas)

Ia: Localizated to Thalamus without massive intraventricular hemorrhage

Ib: Localizated to Thalamus with massive intraventricular hemorrhage

IIa: Internal Capsule extension without massive intraventricular hemorrhage

IIb: Internal Capsule extension with massive intraventricular hemorrhage

IIIa: Mesencephalic or Hypothalamus extension without massive intraventricular hemorrhage

IIIb: Mesencephalic or Hypothalamus extension with massive intraventricular hemorrhage


Classification for the basal ganglia hemorrhage (Beatty/Zervas)

I: Localizated outside the internal capsule.

II: Extension to the anterior limb of the internal capsule.

IIIa: Extension to the posterior limb of the internal capsule without massive intraventricular hemorrhage.

IIIb: Extension to the posterior limb of the internal capsule with massive intraventricular hemorrhage.

IVa: Extension to the anterior and posterior limb of the internal capsule without massive intraventricular hemorrhage.

IVb: Extension to the anterior and posterior limb of the internal capsule without massive intraventricular hemorrage.

V: Extension to the thalamus and subthalamus.
