Very short acting, sedative buterophenone (same class as haldoperidol) useful in treating nausea at doses ~ 1.25 mg; cardiovascular stability is maintained despite slight alpha-adrenergic blocking activity

  1. Antidopaminergic used as antiemetic, antipsychotic, and adjuvant anesthetic ( premedication, induction, and maintenanace for general anesthesia); given concurently with an opioid analgesic (fentanyl)
