Gemistocytic Astrocytoma: Histopathology

Gemistocytic neoplastic astrocytes are characterized by plump, glassy, eosinophilic cell bodies of angular shape. Stout processes form a randomly oriented, coarse fibrillary network. The gemistocytic neoplastic astrocytes consistently express GFAP in their perikarya and cell processes.
