Relevant Anatomy

The pineal region is bounded dorsally by the splenium of the corpus callosum and the tela choridea. The ventral boundary is the quadrigeminal plate and midbrain tectum. The rostral boundary is the posterior aspect of the third ventricle. The caudal boundary is the cerebellar vermis.
