The standard recognized timeframes from symptom onset are:

Up to 3 hours for IV t-PA (though a more recent study suggested a safety profile that would allow administration up to 4.5 hrs)

Up to 6 hours for intra-arterial t-PA

Up to 8 hours for mechanical thrombectomy (includes use of such devices as Merci, Penumbra, and most recently - stent-trievers)
