Stephen M. Russell, MD is an assistant professor of neurosurgery, orthopedics, and surgery (plastics) at the New York University School of Medicine who specializes in peripheral nerve surgery. He graduated from the NYU/Bellevue neurosurgery residency training program in 2004, and performed a one year AANS Van Wagenen traveling fellowship, including 6 months with Drs. Kline and Tiel at Louisiana State University. Dr. Russell is the associate director of neurosuregry at Bellevue Hospital and is an ad hoc reviewer of peripheral nerve manuscripts for Neurosurgery. He has recently published a book titled: "Examination of peripheral nerve injuries: an anatomical approach".
